Arendsvlei (Eagles’ Valley), filmed in Cape Town and produced by Penguin Films, is the name of the fictional community and the Cape Flats high school where the Cupido family who runs the school, tries to make a difference in children’s lives.
Arendsvlei, kykNET & kie’s first original Afrikaans telenovela, has been on air for five seasons now. It airs every week on Monday to Thursday at 19:30, following principal Beatrice (Jolene Martin) who is trying to run the school after her dad’s death.
The Arendsvlei cast includes Jody Abrahams (Lionel), Crystal-Donna Roberts (Janice), Sherman Pharo (Thys), DJ Mouton (Lennie), Gretchen Ramsden (Nicolene), Merlin Balie (Hein), Christian Bennett (Emile), Meghan Saayman (Ayesha), Devonecia Swarts (Eva), Cantona James (Daniel), and Celeste Matthews (Aunty Gertie).
We follow a brother (Thys) and sister (Beatrice), both teachers, who are dedicated to make a difference in the community and at their school. But this comes, of course, with a lot of challenges.
Arendsvlei is broadcast on kykNET & kie, DSTV channel 145 from Monday to Thursday at 19h30
